Ashley Cooper-Legree has now replaced Bunny Hopkins as a great statesman in the Rare Rabbit Assembly and is often seen on the boulevards of Charleston in his elegant attire. Even the most well-regarded gentlemen of Charleston tip their hats to Ashley, and he tips his hat to them (and always to the ladies, of course).

Ashley is old now and has joyfully retired to his gardening (keeping up the grounds of the Great House). In return, the people of the Great House allow the Legrees to take vegetables from the pantry without being harmed. It will become the great wonder of Charleston how their estate remains perfect without human effort.

Ashely’s brother, Hoppin John, leads the Legree Regiment which protects Legrees and other animals. In return for this help, animals (which would otherwise eat rabbits) promise not to do so any longer.
